Two years ago, Decatur entrepreneur Derick Halliman was named Rising Star of the Year by Black Enterprise magazine for his premium water bottle company Mist H2o.



Halliman is expanding his brand as a sponsor for Mist Live concert series, which features R&B, neo-soul and funk artists. The concert series this Saturday will feature longtime Atlanta singer Joi, singer-songwriter Res (who makes up Idle Warship with Talib Kweli and Graph Nobel), SolFactor, and spoken word poet Queen Sheba, who will MC for the night. DJ Tabone will also provide music.



When is a concert more than a concert and actually transforms into an event? When it can seamlessly mesh music, a classy setting and an unrivaled ambiance, it hits just such a note. Mist Live, a soulful collection of artistic stylings from some of the industry’s brightest names, brings this very event to intimate venues all across the country. For its September 18 adaptation at Atlanta’s 595 North Lounge, host and renowned poet Queen Sheba will bring three talents to the stage. Res will work a similar number on guests thanks to moments like “They Say Vision” and “Golden Boys” that made her such a darling in new soul circles. Atlanta icon Joi will get the crowd into a funkdafied tizzy with selections from her ever-expanding catalog.And the whole while, Sol Factor will back everything up with a smooth, balanced symmetry like only that band can.
